Gotthard
Home to the museum is the "Old Staging Post," a building dating back to 1834 and then used as a customs house and hotel for passengers passing through on stagecoaches. The museum's three floors preserve, among other things, the last stagecoach that made regular runs between Airolo and Andermatt from 1909 to 1921, documents, objects, tools, reconstructions of travel scenes, vehicles, harnesses, costumes and uniforms. A slide show summarizes the history associated with the Gotthard.
